As SVP, Consumer Product, Bob is in charge of leading product strategy for Shopzilla’s consumer-facing shopping search sites.  Bob has been the heart and soul of Shopzilla and Bizrate since joining the company in 1999.  During his 9 year tenure as a Zillan, Bob has served multiple roles including Associate Project Manager, Project Manager, Director of Production, VP Site Operations, and VP Consumer Product, before being appointed SVP, Consumer Product in 2009.

In 2002, Bob helped build a world-class traffic acquisition operation which quickly catapulted BizRate to be one of the best indexed sites in the shopping space.  In 2003, Bob was part of the team that worked to scale the product search engine to be able to index over 100 million products, an accomplishment that allowed the company to not only grow in capacity but to also serve up products in a more relevant fashion to consumers.  Bob was also integral in launching the company’s three international properties, in 2004, evolving them from technology prototypes to commercial successes.  A staunch champion of the belief that site performance is based on both key success metrics and core consumer site experiences, Bob was critical in developing the operational structure and processes that allow the company to continue to optimize its products by staying true to the vision of objective and measurable answers.  Bob continues to fine tune the mechanics of all our consumer-facing sites so that they are consistently the best indexed sites in the space, sending millions of quality traffic to retail partners every day.

Before joining Shopzilla, Bob held a brief stint on the agency side helping to design sites for clients such as Autobytel.com, but was mostly focused on becoming a rock star with no interest in getting a real job.  

Born and raised in Long Beach, California, Bob still calls it his hometown.  Bob received his MBA and his BA in Economics from the University of California Irvine.  

When he’s not rocking the halls of Shopzilla, Bob is a national Grand-Am race car driver and has participated in the 24 hours of Daytona multiple times.
