As EVP, Managing Director Europe, Scott is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of Shopzilla’s European properties.  Scott joined Shopzilla in the summer of 2004 to spearhead the company’s UK and continental European expansion. Initially launching BizRate Europe with over 2 million offers, Scott worked to rapidly establish the site as an innovator in European Shopping Search.  Since then he has been integral in growing Shopzilla’s European presence from a single site and country to six different sites across the three key markets of UK, France, and Germany.  In 2006 Scott was central to the making the European sites profitable and in 2009 he championed the partnership with PowerReviews, which now helps shoppers make even more confident choices online by providing them with access to extensive product reviews across a variety of categories.  Scott remains committed to the practice of culture customization and localization in order to deliver products that serve the nuances  of consumer needs in different countries.

Prior to Shopzilla, Scott was in charge of establishing Data Connection's highly acclaimed communications software solutions in the European and US Markets.  Preceding this, he founded Avondi, Europe’s first B2B barter exchanges.  As Founder and CEO of Avondi, Scott led the company to a successful partnership and investment from SEAT Pagine Gialle, Europe’s largest yellow pages provider.  Scott has also held management positions at DLJ Merchant Banking Partners where he sourced and evaluated potential investments in the technology and internet areas.  Before joining DLJ’s Private Equity group, Scott was part of  DLJ’s Investment Banking operations focusing on M&A and Corporate Finance.  He began his career in Hong Kong working for Knight-Ridder Financial and IDC. 

Scott holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and graduated as a Dean’s Scholar from the University of Colorado, Boulder. 

A prolific traveler, Scott holds an appreciation for the myriad cultures which make up the EU and Shopzilla London as well as for the 90-odd countries he’s visited around the world.  He lives in London with his wife Jodie.
